Whale teeth, as with all ivories, are nearly indestructible. Sections of million-year old Mastodon, 10,000-year old Mammoth tusks, and 1,000-year old walrus tusks are offered daily on eBay & other venues.

Here are a few photos & scans of some of my raw Sperm whale teeth. Many are 100 to 150-years old. Some were near-fresh when purchased in Iceland in the very early 1970s, BEFORE international and U.S. Federal restrictions on marine mammal importing.
